Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you visit
swadlincotetabletennisclub.websavers.co.uk. It is written to be read,
not to be waded through.

The short version

This is a simple information website for a local table tennis club. It has no
contact form, no accounts, no newsletter, no shopping basket and no advertising or
analytics tracking. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share
anything about you with anyone.

Who we are

Swadlincote Table Tennis Club, Swadlincote, Derbyshire. For anything to do with
this policy or your information, email
tabletennisswad@gmail.com.

What we collect

If you just read the website

We do not ask you for anything, and the site does not set any tracking cookies.

Our web host keeps standard server logs, which record things like your IP address,
the pages requested, the time of the request and your browser type. These are created
automatically by the hosting infrastructure, are used for security and for keeping the
site running, and are deleted on the host’s own schedule. The site is hosted in the
United Kingdom by 20i and delivered through their content delivery network.

If you email us

The email addresses on this site are ordinary mailto links, so emailing us opens
your own email program. If you write to us we will have your email address and
whatever you choose to put in the message. We keep it only so we can reply and, where
relevant, so we can remember a conversation about membership or coaching. We do not
add you to any mailing list.

Cookies

The website sets no cookies for ordinary visitors. WordPress, which the site is
built on, sets cookies only for people who log in to administer the site — that
is the club’s own administrators, not visitors.

Fonts loaded from Google

We should be straight about this one. The site’s typefaces are served from Google
Fonts. That means your browser requests those font files from Google’s servers, and in
making that request your IP address and basic browser information reach Google. We do
not send Google anything else, and we get nothing back about you.

If you would rather this did not happen, the fonts can be hosted on our own server
instead, which removes Google from the picture entirely. If that matters to you, say
so and we will move them.

Children

Juniors are welcome at the club, and children may well be reading this page with a
parent. The website itself does not knowingly collect information from anyone,
children included. Arrangements for junior players are made in person or by email with
a parent or guardian, not through this site.

Links to other websites

This site links to our Facebook group, to our website sponsor
Loki Sport UK, and to
Websavers, who built the site.
Once you follow a link you are on someone else’s website and their privacy policy
applies, not this one.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us what information we hold about you, ask
us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. In practice, for most visitors the answer
is that we hold nothing at all. Email
tabletennisswad@gmail.com and we will
respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to
the Information Commissioner’s Office at
ico.org.uk.

Changes

If we add anything to the site that collects information — a contact form or a
booking system, for example — we will update this page before it goes live. The
date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
